Health Diary is a currently free online daily weight diary and browser-based weight tracker. Record your morning weight — and your fluid intake, if your doctor has asked you to track it — without installing an app, and turn your diary into a report your doctor can use.
What the diary does today
- Record your weight in kilograms, with the date and time and an optional comment — for example about swollen ankles or a salty meal.
- Add the fluid you drank that day in mL, if your doctor has asked you to keep track — it's always optional.
- See your weight trend on a chart, with fluid shown alongside when you record it.
- Download a PDF report or a spreadsheet whenever you choose.
A weight tracker that works in your browser
No app store, no password: open healthdiary.au in Safari or Chrome, sign in with your email, and it behaves like a weight tracker app — you can add it to your home screen so it opens with one tap. Being a website, it's always up to date and identical on iPhone, Android and computer.
A report your doctor can read at a glance
The PDF report shows your latest weight, your average, your highest and lowest weights with dates, the recorded change between your first and last entries, and your average fluid intake when you've recorded it — followed by the full day-by-day record. You print it or email it to the practice yourself.
Everything in the report simply describes what you recorded — the diary never interprets your weight or comments on your fluid intake.
Why daily weighing is often asked for
Your weight from day to day says more as a pattern than as a single number — which is why doctors who ask for daily weights usually want to see the whole record, not just today's reading. Weighing the same way each morning — same scales, after the toilet, before breakfast — keeps the record steady enough to be useful. Our short guide explains the routine: how to weigh yourself the same way every day.
What this diary deliberately doesn't do
- It doesn't connect to your scales — you type the number in, which takes a few seconds.
- It doesn't interpret your weight, set limits, or give advice about fluid or medicines — that's your doctor's job, with your report in hand.
- It doesn't alert anyone. Nobody monitors what you record — if your doctor has given you instructions about weight changes, follow their plan.
Common questions
What do I need to sign up?
Just a working email address. We don't ask for your name, date of birth or phone number.
Can my doctor or nurse see my entries?
No — only you can see your diary. When you want them to see your record, download a report and bring or send it yourself.
Do I have to record fluid?
No — fluid is optional. Record it only if your doctor has asked you to keep track of how much you drink. Weight on its own is a complete diary.
Will it warn me if my weight goes up?
No. The diary records and charts your entries but never interprets them or raises alerts. If your doctor has told you what to do about weight changes, follow their instructions — and contact their rooms if you're unsure.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes — it runs in the browser on any device, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.
